Kalsow, Fred ( 1848- 5 Jan. 1922)

Fred Kalsow, one of the old and honored residents of the town of Weston, died at his home in that town Jan. 5, 1922. He was born in Germany in 1848 and came to this country in 1865, settling in Watertown, Wis. On Jan. 3, 1873, he as married to Miss Amelia Klueckmann and about two and a half years later they came to Clark County, and soon settled on land in the town of Weston. Mr. and Mrs. Kalsow were of that industrious class of people who have done so much to develop and build up this country. They went through all the experiences of pioneer life and were rewarded by building up a good home. Mr. Kalsow was a man who had the respect of all who knew him; he was a good husband and father and an upright citizen. He leaves to mourn his death his wife and four children: Albert Kalsow, Theodore Kalsow, Mrs. Ferd Grap, all living on farms in Weston and Liebrecht Kalsow living on the home farm. He leaves also two brothers, William Kalsow of Weston and Aug. Kalsow of Watertown, and two sisters, Mrs. Aug. Rummler of Watertown and Mrs. Wager, who lives in Minnesota; also 15 grandchildren. The funeral was held on Monday at the Globe church, Rev. Parisius officiating.
