Hurst, Florence I. (12 OCT 1853 - 22 JUN 1924)

Florence Ida Webster, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Webster, was born in Green County, Wis., on Oct. 12, 1853, and died at Eau Claire, June 22, 1924, aged 70 years, 8 months and 10 days.

When about ten years of age, she, with her parents moved to a farm near Humbird, Clark County, Wis., where she lived until her marriage to John Hurst, on June 12, 1870.

Three children were born to this union, Mrs. Jay Miller of Augusta, T. F. Hurst of Hudson, and Mrs. Julius Henning of Eau Claire, all of whom, with the husband and nine grandchildren, mourn her death.

The deceased was a member of the Methodist Church at Chetek, in which city she spent her later years. She had been in failing health for several years, and death came as a blessed relief from her sufferings. She was a faithful wife, a loving mother, and a kindly neighbor and friend to all.

The remains were brought here for burial Wednesday, services being conducted in the Methodist Church that afternoon by the pastor, Rev. Alex J. Abbott, a large number of relatives and friends being present. Interment was in the Mentor Cemetery.

Of the immediate family here to attend the burial service were Mr. Hurst, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Henning and sons Harold and Bernard, Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. T. F. Hurst, son Webster, and daughter Jane Elizabeth, Hudson; Mr. and Mrs. Jay Miller of Augusta. Other relatives and friends from away were: Mr. and Mrs. A. G.
