Voss, Johanna L. (8 Dec 1845 - 9 May 1921)

Mrs. Gustav Voss died at her home in this village (Loyal, Clark County, Wis.), on Monday morning, May 9, 1921, after a short illness, at the age of 75 years.

Johanna Louise Voss was born Dec. 8, 1845, in the province of Pommerania, Germany. On March 7, 1873 she was married to Gustav Voss. In 1881 they came to America, settling in Waukesha Co., Wis., where they lived 18 years, moving in 18999 to the town of Loyal, Clark County, where they lived two years, and then came to the village, where she has since resided.

She leaves to mourn her loss four sons, August Voss, Spencer, Max and Harry of Loyal, Otto of Waukesha, three daughters, Mrs. Henry Krause, Mrs. Albert Schilling of Loyal and Mrs. Annie Connell of Waukesha, 17 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, two children and the husband having preceded her in death.

The deceased was a faithful and loving wife and mother and will be greatly missed.

The funeral services were held on Thursday afternoon at the Lutheran Church, Rev. E. Kemena officiating. She was laid to rest in the Loyal Village Cemetery.
