Weisborn, Eric F. (16 Sep 1900 - 4 NOV 1918)

Services for Pvt. Eric F. Weisborn, whose body arrived from overseas last week was held at the local (Loyal, Clark county, Wis.) Lutheran Church on Monday afternoon at 2:30. Rev. Kemena and Rev. Matter officiated.

The services were attended by a large number of people and ex-servicemen, who assembled to pay their last respects to the brave soldier.

Eric F. Weisborn, son of R. Weisborn and wife, was born in Berlin, Germany, Sept. 116, 1900. When three years old he came with his parents to America and lived at Marion and Tigerton, Wis., before coming to Loyal in 1912. On March 30, 1917, he enlisted in the army and received his training at Camp Douglas, McArthur and Merritt and was a member of Co. A. 128th Infantry. He sailed for France June 28, 1918. On Nov. 4th, 1918 he was killed in battle at the age of 18 years, 1 month and 19 days.

He leaves to mourn his loss, his mother, sister and other relatives, his father having died in 1915.

He was buried with military honors at the Union Cemetery here.

As a mark of respect, every business place closed from 2:30 to 4.
