ABBB0TSFORD - Florence Mildred Baxter, 72, formerly of Withee, died Friday (Oct. 16, 1992) at Maryville Samaritan Hospital, Phoenix, Ariz. She had been living in Phoenix with her daughter since Sept. 14.

Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. Saturday at Maurina Funeral Home, Abbotsford, with the Rev. Carl Swarr officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Withee.

The family will meet with friends and relatives one hour before ser vice time Saturday at the funeral home.

She was born March 16, 1920, in the town of Hixon, Withee, to the late John and Marian (Harnme) Hemminger. She attended White School and was a graduate of Owen High School. She was married to George Rutan, in 1939, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and they were later divorced. She was married to Robert Baxter, and he later died.

She was known for her quilting, spinning and beautiful wedding cakes. She lived with her son in Stetsonville before moving to Arizona.

Survivors include one son, John Rutan of Stetsonville; two daughters, Mrs. Harry (Sandra) Weiss of Phoenix and Mrs. Phillip (Lorraine) Marien of Janesville; two sisters, Dorothy Beisner of Dorchester and Mrs. Ralph (Adele) Baxter of Dorchester; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was also predeceased by one brother, Earl Hemminger.
