Lloyd, Mae (17 May 1904 - 23 March 1923)

Miss Mae Lloyd died on Friday, March 23, at the home of her uncle, Will Wells, in Hamilton, Montana, after a lingering illness from tuberculosis, covering a period of nearly two years. About five months ago she went to Montana, hoping that a change of climate might prove beneficial and at times since it seemed as if she was gaining, but the disease had too strong a hold upon her.

Mae Lloyd was born in the town of Pine Valley May 17, 1904, being the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Lloyd. She attended the country school and spent most of her life at home. She was well known among the young people of Neillsville as she was frequently at the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. M. N. Wells and her uncle, Berton Wells, and was much liked by all her acquaintances. Her early death is a sad blow to her parents and brothers and sisters. She leaves her father, mother, five brothers, Byno, Ray, Guy, Thomas and Calvert, all at home; three sisters, Eunice and Elva at home and Mrs. Art Shumway in Neillsville.

The remains arrived from Montana Monday, accompanied by the sister, Eunice, who had been with Mae for some time during the last of her sickness. The funeral is held this Wednesday at the Congregational church, Rev. Longenecker officiating.
