Schwellenbach, Joseph (30 Apr 1856 - 6 Apr 1927)

Joseph Schwellenbach, one of the early settlers of West Weston, Clark County, Wis., died at his home in that town on April 6, 1927, at the age of 71 years. He was born in Jefferson Co., Wis., April 30, 1856, and grew to manhood there. About 45 years ago he came to Clark County and settled in the town of Weston. Shortly after, he was married to Rosa Prock. To them were born one daughter, who died, and two sons who survive, William of Neillsville and Joseph of Wilton. About five years after their marriage his wife died, and later Mr. Schwellenbach was married to Amelia Beyer. To them were born four children: Roland and Earl on the home farm, Mrs. Anton Spangler of Loyal and Margaret Schwellenbach at home. Their mother died about seven years ago. Besides the children named above, he leaves six grandchildren, one brother, Roland Schwellenbach and one sister, Mrs. Mary Prock of Neillsville.

Mr. Schwellenbach was an industrious, upright man. He had many misfortunes in life, but faced them bravely and patiently. He was a kind husband and father and a good neighbor.

The funeral was held Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Neillsville, Rev. Father Weber officiating. Pallbearers were Bruno Henschen, Theo Gall, John Mund, John Jacklin, Charles Navatny and Nick Blau.
