Wilding, Alice (18 Dec 1926)

A pretty home wedding was solemnized at 9 o'clock Saturday morning, Dec. 18, 1926, when Miss Alice Wilding, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Wilding, became the bride of Charles W. Lee of Los Angeles.

The ring ceremony was performed by Rev. C. E. Boyer of the Inglewood M. E. Church.

Only a few close friends and relatives attended. The bride is a graduate of Inglewood Union High School, class of 1924 and has been employed in the capacity of Text Book Librarian of that school ever since, and she has lived in Hawthorne about 6 years. She was attired in a beautiful "ashes of roses" gown and carried a huge bouquet of roses and was given away by her father.

Miss Laura Mattocks of Inglewood, a very close friends, was the bridesmaid, wearing a dress of blue and carried sweet peas. Mr. Lawrence Ruppers, a life long friend of the groom, was his attendant.

Mr. Lee holds a very responsible position with the Llewellyn Iron Works of Los Angeles.

The Wilding home at 142 W. Raymond Ave. was decorated with roses and ferns and a three course wedding breakfast was prepared by Mrs. Flora Soguel of Los Angeles, and two waitresses, close friends of the bride, served the wedding party. The table was beautiful decorated in lavender and yellow, a flora center piece consisted of lavender sweet peas, yellow daisies and maiden hair fern, yellow candles draped with lavender tulle were used. Numerous and lovely gifts were received by them.

The young couple left immediately for a week's honeymoon trip to Big Bear Lake, after which they will be at home to their many friends at 624 West Regent St., Inglewood, Calif.
