Mews, Brad (? - 21 August 2014)

Brad Mews, 31, of the Town of Unity, lost his life in a one-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon on Rock Creek Road near Miller Avenue in the Town of Loyal.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Department received a 9-1-1 call at approximately 3:31 p.m.

According to the initial investigation report, Mews was traveling east in his pickup truck on Rock Creek Road. He passed a horse and buggy also traveling east and lost control, entering the south ditch. The truck then came back onto the roadway and after spinning, flipped twice and ejected the driver.

The truck came to rest on its passenger side in the north ditch facing east. Mews was found in the north ditch approximately 50 feet west of the vehicle. He had not been wearing a seat belt.

Mews was transported to Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, where he died from his injuries.

Emergency services personnel responding to the scene included the Greenwood Area Ambulance and Fire Department, the Spirit Air Ambulance of Marshfield and the Clark County Sheriff’s Department.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Department and Coroner Richard Schleifer are continuing to investigate the crash. This is the fourth traffic fatality for the Clark County in 2014.
