Slocomb, Agnes (7 July 1871 - 30 June 1926)

Mrs. Otis Slocomb died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. C. Beglinger in St. Paul at 3 o’clock a.m. Wednesday, June 30, after a lingering illness from pernicious anemia.

Anges Munce was born in Titusville, Pennsylvania, July 7, 1871. At the age of 13 she came to Neillsville, and in November, 1892, she was married to Otis Slocomb of the town of Grant and soon after they settled on a farm in that town which was their home until a little over a year ago. Mr. Slocomb died May 11, 1925. No greater loss has ever come to the town of Grant and this whole community than the death of Mr. and Mrs. Slocomb, and the passing of a home that has been one of the best in the county. Mrs. Slocomb was a lady of intelligence and fine qualities of mind and heart. She had the good dependable qualities that gave all who knew her the utmost confidence in her. To her family and all those about her she imparted her standards of life, that they will never forget. She is survived by five children: Ire O. Slocomb, and attorney of Menomonie, Wis.; Mrs. J. C. Beglinger and Mrs. Walter Nelson of St. Paul; Miss Vera Slocomb of Minneapolis and Miss Ruth Slocomb of Menomonie. She leaves also one sister, Mrs. L. S. Wren of Hawthorne, California.

The funeral was held Friday at Pleasant Ridge church, Rev. S. J. Lambright officiating. All of the children were in attendance. Burial took place in Grant cemetery.
