Seefeld, Wayne F. (14 July 1929 – 19 April 2022)

Wayne Seefeld, 92, passed away on April 19, 2022. He was born July 14, 1929, in the town of Unity, the youngest of 6 children to Louis and Winifred Seefeld (Pickett).

Wayne was a proud veteran, serving in the Marines from 1951 to 1953, followed by 32 years as an American Legion member.

Following his service, he married Patricia (Schoelzel) on November 30, 1957, and together they raised 3 daughters. Throughout his lifetime Wayne was an entrepreneur and carpenter, owner of Wayne's Craft Builders, school bus driver, mechanic, musician and inventor; even having his own patented fishing boat. He had a talent for woodcarving, passed down from his father, and created hundreds of intricate, one of a kind carvings. Wayne was a self-taught musician who never read a musical note and learned everything by ear. He sang and played keyboard, trumpet and sax with many old-time music bands including Harmony 4 and The Wayne Seefeld Orchestra. Throughout over 70 years he played for countless weddings, anniversaries and other celebrations across Wisconsin and Minnesota. In later years he continued to play for nursing home residents as well.

Those left to cherish his memory are his three daughters, Jackie (Clark) Miller, Marinette; Sue Schoelzel, Eau Claire; Trudy (Chuck Giese) Seefeld, Spirit. He is further survived by 9 grandkids; Laurie (Lee) Hart, Jen (Jamie) Swenson, Andy Shepard, Christy Jo (Kevin) Steward, Mandy Miller, Dustin Kabat, Ashley (Jeff) Lee, Paige and Bridget Fransway, 15 great-grandkids and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Daryl, his wife of 32 years, Patricia, and granddaughter Trisha.

A memorial service for Wayne will be held at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, 201 S. LaSalle Street, in Spencer, on Friday, April 29, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Mark Krueger officiating. Military honors will be performed after the service by the American Legion Post No. 54 of Marshfield. A Celebration of Life will follow at the VFW in Colby. Visitation for family and friends will be one hour before the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will take place at a later date at West Spencer Cemetery, in Spencer, WI.

The family would like to thank the team at Alice and Louise's; Althea 4N, Renada in Spiritual Services, his nurses, CNAs, and other staff at Marshfield Medical Center.
