Tom Philpott made an arrest last Saturday at Spencer, of a man supposed to be a party connected with the Bebl murder case. The whole case at present writing seems to be wrapped in profound mystery, but "murder will out" and if Jacob Bebl is murdered it matters not by whom, the guilty party will be found and punished.

===============================

The supposed Bebl murder case has been undergoing investigating before Justice Lee at this place during the week. Conrad Kourou, charged with the murder of the said Jacob Bebl, having been arrested at Spencer last Saturday by Sheriff Philpott and brought to this place and lodged in jail. The case was first called last Tuesday and has been adjourned from time to time to procure evidence since that date, and as we go to press, Thursday afternoon, the matter still hangs though the probabilities are that the prisoner will be discharged during the day, the evidence produced in the examination, so far, being insufficient to warrant his being held for trial. The principal witnesses examined were his wife and her sister and husband, who have succeeded in making a better case against themselves than against the man arrested on their statements.
