Phillips, Henry M. (3 Jan 1846 - 9 May 1926)

Henry M. Phillips, aged 80 years, 4 months and 6 days, died at the home of his niece, Mrs. Wm. Sisco, in the town of Worden, Clark County, Wis., on Sunday May 9th, 1926, of general debility incident to old age. Deceased was born Jan. 3, 1846, at Virgal, Cortland Co., N.Y., and came to Wisconsin with his parents when twelve years of age. He enlisted in the 27th Wis. Regiment when sixteen years old and served four years. After his discharge he took up a soldier's claim in Kansas, living there 46 years. His health failing, he returned to Fond du Lac in 1913, since which time he has made his home with his niece. Mrs. Sisco. For the past eighteen months they have resided here. Funeral services were held on Tuesday from the undertaking rooms of John G. Bogumill in this village, Dr. B. A. Cole officiating, members of Cecil Tormey Post, American Legion, acting as escort to the depot, the body being shipped to Fond du Lac for interment.
