Theresa B. Turk, 88, Marshfield, formerly of Loyal, died Thursday, July 8, 2004, at Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Monday, July 12, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal. The Rev. Roman Kaiser officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were Steve Wehrman, Tom Wehrman, John Castner, Tim Strebe, Douglas Wahl and Joey Hoops.

 

Theresa Barbara Hoffman was born Aug. 25, 1915, in Spencer, to Carolus and Theresia [nee Schofhauser] Hoffman. She was raised on the family farm and attended school in rural Spencer. He married John L. Castner on June 11, 1932, at St. John’s rectory, Marshfield. They made their home in Loyal, where she worked at Wepfer’s Drug Stroe and at the Loyal Bakery. Her husband died on March 10, 1964. She continued to live in Loyal and worked at the Patio Restaurant, Marshfield. She married Ted Turk on Jan, 11, 1969, at St.Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal. They moved to Stratford and operated a farm. After their retirement, they moved back to Loyal and enjoyed traveling. They later divorced. She continued living in Loyal until moving to Deerview Meadows, Marshfield, in 1997. She resided there until entering the Marshfield Center in 1999. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and its P.C.C.W., the Royal Neighbors of America and she had many interests, but especially loved spending time with her family, gardening, traveling, fishing and cooking.

 

She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Sister Helen Castner, La Crosse; 16 grandchildren, and many great-and great-great-grandchildren.

 

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, John L. Castner; one son, John A. Castner; one daughter, Marceklla Wehrman; seven brothers; and two sisters.

 

Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal, assisted the family with arrangements.
