Edwards, Florence L. (11 MAY 1914 - 26 JUL 2004)

Florence L. Edwards, 90, formerly of Greenwood, died Monday, July 26, 2004, at Froedert Lutheran Hospital, Milwaukee. Funeral services were held Friday, July 30, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Stevens Point. The Rev. Roger McAbee officiated. Burial was in Restlawn Memorial Park, town of Grand Rapids.

Florence L. Friske was born May 11, 1914, in Wilton, to Otto and Clara [nee drews] Friske. She moved to Greenwood as a youngster and attended school there. After high school, she attended Wausau Business College. She then worked at Wuethrich Creamery in Greenwood for a number of years. She married Herschel E. Edwards on June 20, 1947, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal. After marrying they settled in Stevens Point. While Herschel served in the military, they lived in Rozwell, N.M., for a short time. They then returned to Stevens Point, where they raised their family and lived for many years. Herschel died June 4, 1997. She was an active volunteer in the community and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, their Altar Guild, Ladies Aid and Golden Trinity and was a member and past officer of Barbara Rebekah Lodge No. 9. Her interests included traveling, homemaking, and being with her family.

Survivors include two daughters, Joyce [Anthony] Shulist, Menomonee Falls, and Janet [James] Pape, Cudahy; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
