Catlin, Marie (11 AUG 1925)

The Methodist Church here (Loyal, Clark County, Wis.) was the scene of a beautiful and impressive marriage ceremony Tuesday at high noon, when Miss Marie Catlin became the bride of Mr. Clarence Imislund of Eau Claire. The church, with which the bride and parents have been associated with for several years, was tastefully decorated for the occasion. A white wedding bell with streamers furnished an arch; then golden rod and ferns were used in ferneries which decorated the altar rail and pathway of the bridal procession. House ferns and cut flowers wer also used for decorations.

Miss Bernice Draper at the piano, played as a processional Lohengrin's Bridal Chorus, to which the bridal party advanced to the altar led by the ushers, Miss Eva Etta and Miss Iva Hutchins. Little Misses Eunice, Melva and Eileen Catlin, nieces of the bride, in white, were the dainty little flower girls. They carried baskets filled with summer flowers. Miss Gertrude Clouse sang "My Dream" by Homer Tourjce. Rev. James performed the marriage vows and the double ring ceremony was used.

The bride was lovely in beaded canton crepe wearing a coronet and carrying a beautiful shower bouquet of pink bridal roses, ferns and sweet peas. She is a graduate of our high school, also of the Eau Claire Normal, and has taught successfully for several years. She is a young woman of a most pleasing personality and very highly respected. Miss alma Tessmer, bridesmaid, wore a gown of green canton crepe, trimmed with wide white lace and carried a bridal rose bouquet.

The groom was attended by Clarence Kilde of Eau Claire. Each wore dark blue serge. Mr. Imislund is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Imislund of Eau Claire. He is a graduate of the Eau Claire Normal and has also studied for the ministry of the Norwegian Lutheran Church. Last year he was History teacher in the Neillsville High School, which position he holds for the coming year. He is a young man of sterling character and his short acquaintance here has won him many friends.

After the marriage vows were taken, Mendelsohn's wedding march was then played and the bridegroom received congratulations and the bride, best wishes from her friends. Immediately after the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents. A lovely color scheme of green and white was carried out for the table and house decorations.

The bridal couple left the same afternoon to Lone Lake where they have a cottage, then they will go to Chippewa Falls and Minneapolis. They will be at home to their friends, Sept. 7th, at Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.

Out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Anton Imislund, Mr. Leroy, Eau Claire, Mr. Clarence Kild, Eau Claire, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Catlin and daughter Eunice of Marshfield.
