Carl, Elizabeth (Marriage - 14 June 1930)

Mr. Walter Borde and Miss Elizabeth Carl were quietly married 4 o’clock p.m. Saturday, June 14, at St. John’s Lutheran parsonage, Rev. Wm. Baumann officiating. They were attended by the groom’s brothers, Mr. Herbert Borde and his wife. Immediately after the ceremony the bridal party drove to the home of the groom’s parents where a bountiful wedding supper was served, the guests being relatives of the bride and groom. In the evening a serenading party of the nearby neighbors came and a happy social evening was spent, refreshments being served.

The groom is the older son of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Borde of Pine Valley. He grew up on the home farm, and since he grew to manhood has taken an active part in the farm management and in recent years has in addition to the farm work, operated a threshing machine during the season. He is a young man who stands high in the community and was last spring elected Treasurer of the Town of Pine Valley.

The bride is the daughter of the last Mr. and Mrs. Herman Carl. She was born on the farm in Pine Valley and came with her parents when they moved to the city. She entered Neillsville high school and graduated with the class of 1925, taking the Commercial Course. Since graduation she has good positions in her chosen work, much of the time in Chicago, where she was employed up to a short time before the wedding. She is a young lady of fine qualities of mind and highly esteemed by all who know her.

The young couple left Sunday by auto for Sturgeon Bay and vicinity where they plan to spend a couple of weeks.
