Pvt. Harris Earl Mabie, son of Mr. Wallace Mabie was born in the town of Worden, Clark Co., Sept. 2, 1894. He attended school in the town of Sherman, finishing the eight grade. On July 21st 1918 he was called to the colors and enrolled in Co. I. 341st Inf.. He started for France Sept. 9th and later was transferred to Co. H. 312 Inf., dying of wounds received in action in France on Oct. 21st at the age of 24 years 1 mo. and 19 days. He was buried with full military honors in France.

The deceased was of a quiet and retiring nature and was an industrious young man of good habits, having the respect of everyone. He died as a brave soldier that the world might be safe for democracy. He leaves to mourn his loss, a father, four sisters and three brothers, all at home with the exception of one brother, Alvin whom is in France and one sister sick in the Marshfield hospital. We with the whole community extend our heartfelt sympathy to the relatives.
