Zinthefer, Darlene Gertrude (21 May 1940 – 5 June 2022)

Darlene G. Zinthefer, 82, of Marshfield, passed away at her home on Sunday, June 5, 2022.

Darlene Gertrude Behnke was born on May 21, 1940, in the Town of Fremont, rural Granton, to Arthur C. and Velda L. (Knoop) Behnke. She was raised on the family farm just south of Loyal. She later worked at St. Joseph's Hospital as a housekeeper. Darlene was married to Paul Guillaume and later Richard Zinthefer. Both marriages ended in divorce.

Darlene is survived by her children: Lori Barlow (Bill Proesel) of Auburndale, Linda Guillaume and Randy Guillaume, both of Marshfield, and Cheryl Zinthefer of Granton; her grandchildren: Frank Barlow, Tammie Barlow, Dominique (Brett) Morzewski, and Meriah Rudie; her great-grandchildren: Jaden, Brett, Brenna and Penelope; her siblings: Velora (Lowell) Roehl and Ken (Mary Kay) Behnke, both of Loyal; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Duane Behnke.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at Cuddie Funeral Home in Loyal. Chaplain Kristen DeYoung will officiate, and burial will follow in the Loyal Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of service.

The family would like to thank the providers and staff at Marshfield Clinic Health System for their care over the years, as well as Home Health and Hospice caregivers.
