Gladys E. Gretzner was born Jan. 13, 1905, in Loyal, to Adolph and Alvina [nee Luther] Gretzner. She was a 1924 graduate of Loyal High School. She married Eric Schultz on Nov. 8, 1927, in Watertown. He preceded her in death Jan. 4, 1971. She was a longtime resident of North Fond du Lac, and moved to Racine 10 years ago to be near her family. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Wisconsin Synod Church, North Fond du Lac, where she was active in Ladies Aid. She was a leader in Railroad Wives Association, volunteered at the senior center and worked many years at the voting polls. Her interests included gardening, bird watching, sewing, travel and walking.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Judy [Al] Cutler Schultz Pedersen, Racine; three granddaughters, Deborah Schultz Pasha, Milwaukee, Karen [Don] Schultz Walters, Racine and Susan Schultz, Neenah; four great grandchildren, Katy Walters, Kira Walters, Gabrielle Pasha and Nathan Pasha; two sisters, Eva Wolfe, Spencer, and Violet Haselow, Loyal; and many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives, dear friends and care givers.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Eric; and her son, Eugene.

Maresh-Meredith & Asklam Funeral Home, Fond du Lac, assisted the family with arrangements.

Note - The following add on note was provided by Nicholas Bykowsky

I was married to one of her granddaughters - Deborah (1977-1987).

Grandma Schultz was a very wonderful sweet woman.

Even after the divorce she would send me nice letters.

AND, Grandma Schultz made the most awesome rum-soaked fruitcake.

It has always been the only fruitcake I have ever eaten since 1975.

I still miss her very much.  And she almost made it to 100.
