Koser, Herman 7/28/1862 - 9/01/1938

West Fremont--Funeral services for Herman Koser, 76, who died Thursday, Sept 1, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, were conducted Monday morning, Sept, 5. He had been a patient at the hospital for the past eight weeks.

The Rev. Arthur J. Cramer, Bakerville, officiated at the rites at the home, and at 9 o'clock services were held at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Chili. Immediately after the services, the body was taken to Lake Mills, where burial took place.

Pallbearers were H.C. Montag, Math Jensen, Anton Hornick, Otto Ramer, George Selk, and Peter Madler. FLower girls were Geneva Montag, Olive Muir, Goldie Smith, and Mabel Verhagen.

Mr. Koser was born July 28, 1862 in Fort Atkinson. He married Miss Josephine Engsberg Sept. 20, 1888. Two years afer their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Koser moved from Fort Atkison to a farm in Waterloo. During the year 1900, they moved to a farm near Chili, now owned by William Steckert. After living here for 14 years they came to the village of Chili, where Mr. Koser lived until he was taken to the hospital.

He was married in May, 1936, to Mrs. Emma Brooks, also of Chili, who survives him. A daughter preceded him in death Nov. 15 1889, at the age of 14 days. He was a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church.

Relatives and friends from out of town who attended the rites were: Mr. and Mrs. H.J. MCormick, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Trudeau, George Trudeau, Mrs. L Cournoyer, Allie Cournoyer, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Gebhard, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Gebhard, all of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Langreck, Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Gebhard, Mr. and Mrs. Wenzel Gebhard, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Hackert and Mrs. Clarence Kinney, Milwaukee, and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Jirschele, Hewitt.
