Briski, Albert (31 JUL 1929 - 13 OCT 2004)

Albert Briski, 75, died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2004, at UCSD Medical Center, San Diego, Calif. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 19, at Stokes & Mundt Funeral Chapel, Altoona. The Rev. Larry Borgelt officiated. Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery, Eau Claire.

Albert Briski was born July 31, 1929, in Greenwood, to Matt and Katherine [nee Zagar] Briski. He graduated from high school in 1947. He joined the Air Force and served from 1948 to 1952. He married Della M. Schmidt in Nekoosa on June 8, 1957. He worked for the federal government from 1952 to 1974. He worked for the DNR from 1975 until 1980. At that time, he went back to school and graduated from the UW-Stout at the age of 50. He then taught at the UW-Stout for two years. He started Al’s Painting Service in 1980, and continued until a few months ago. His interests included fishing, deer hunting, and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Della, Altoona; his children, Laurie [Jeff] Mueller, Phoenix, Ariz., Linda [James] Tafel, Eau Claire, Roger Briski, Eau Claire, and Diane [Tim] Kloss, Altoona; his grandchildren, Travis Kloss and Jana Rettig; five sisters, Julia Vivoda, Florida, Katherine Gulczinski, Minneapolis, Angeline Gulczinski, Greenwood, Rose Malaszuk, Greenwood; three brothers, Robert [Timi] Briski, Greenwoon, Ted [Vivian] Briski, Greenwood, and Johnny [Florence] Briski, Greenwood.
