SPENCER - Alleda N. Lindner, 88, of Spencer died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004, at her home.

There will be no funeral service. All are welcome to reminisce and share her handicraft along with refreshments during open house at her home from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today, 10 a.m. to noon Thursday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday.

She was born March 27, 1916, in Loyal to Albert and Lena (Luther) Foelske. She attended eight years of formal education in Loyal schools. Alleda married Merlyn J. Lindner on Nov. 9, 1938. He preceded her in death in 1989.

Alleda was employed as a production worker by Land O'Lakes until her retirement. She also was a homemaker. She enjoyed children, babysitting and houseplants, together with various handicrafts such as crocheting quilts, embroidering dishtowels, knitting booties and sewing.

She was a longtime member, earlier of Trinity Lutheran Church of Spencer, and later of the renewed and transformed Worldwide Church of God, Wausau and Eau Claire. Her ability to arrange bouquets and welcome newcomers always was appreciated.

Alleda enjoyed good health until the last year and one-half. Distant family members chose to visit her several days before her death in lieu of a funeral. Her body will be cremated. The family especially thanks the home palliative and hospice care given her during her recent kidney and heart failure. She will be dearly missed, especially by her care-giving son.

Surviving are her children, Darrell (Bonnie) Lindner, Ashland, Ohio, and Arlan Lindner, Spencer; grandchildren, Ron (Jamie) Lindner, Jay (Sally) Lindner, Mike Lindner, Cathy (Joel) Brittenbucker, John (Kerri) Lindner, Sally (Seraj) Hamid, Jenny Lindner and Tonja and Jason; 13 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Velda (Lester) Wittig of Juneau.
