On Dec. 6, the 87th birthday of Mrs. Dora Garbisch was celebrated at the home of her son Paul in the town of Grant where she lives. Mrs. Garbisch is one of the oldest settlers of Clark county. She was born in Germany and came to his country in 1861, at the beginning of the Civil War.

In 1862 she was married to John Garbisch and they settled on the land where she now lives with her son. To Mr. an Mrs. Garbisch fourteen children were born, nine of whom are still living -- two daughters and seven sons. There at present 50 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. Mr. Garbisch died in 1892.

Mrs. Garbisch is still strong in mind and in fair health, though unable to walk but little. There were 53 relatives and friends preset at the birthday celebration and all enjoyed the re-union very much.
