Schilling, Ferdinand L. (4 NOV 1900 - 21 Sep 1979)

Chili, Clark County, Wis. - Services for Ferdinand L. Schilling, 78, Route 1, town of Fremont, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Immanuel United Methodist Church.

He died Friday morning at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire, where he had been a patient since Sept. 9.

Burial will be in the parish cemetery. The Rev. Frank R. Hinebaugh will officiate and Mrs. Albert Grimm, organist, will accompany congregational singing.

Pallbearers will be Melvin Bandt, Forrest Foemmel, Floyd King, Gene Schilling and Walter Steinbach.

Friends May call from 2 - 9 p.m. Sunday at Hansen Funeral Home, Marshfield, and at the church from noon until services Monday.

He was born here Nov. 4, 1900, to Mr. and Mrs. Louis (Bertha Nebel) Schilling and attended local schools.

He farmed with his mother and later purchased his own farm. He also owned and operated an implement and hardware store in Chili until 1933. He later operated hardware and grocery stores in Granton, Westfield and Coloma.

In 1857 he returned to Chili to farm. He was affiliated with Immanuel Methodist Church.

He married Evelyn F. Lindow here on June 27, 1923. She died Jan. 10, 1973.

Survivors include a son Phillip of Chili; two grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. August (Elizabeth) Foemmel and Mrs. William (Ruth) Bandt, both of Chili, and Mrs. Walter (Martha) King of Coloma. A daughter, Mrs. L. James (Rachael) McCormick, died May 10, 1973. A brother, two sisters and his parents also are deceased.
