Carl E. 'Toots' Kessler

Carl Kessler, age 69, of Neillsville, died Sunday, July 4, at the House of the Dove in Marshfield.

Carl Edward Kessler was born on NOv. 5, 1934 in Neillsville, the son of Carl B. and Clara A. (Wasserberger) Kessler. He attaneded St. Mary's School in Neillsville, and then farmed with his brother, Kenneth, in Pine Valley Township.

Carl was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He enjoyed football and hunting.

He is survived by two brothers, Kenneth Kessler of Neillsville, and Louis (Shirley) Kessler, of Neillsville; two sisters, Elaine (Jim) Haas of Barron, and Angeline (Forest) Larson, of Neillsville; and a sister-in-law, Margie Kessler, of Neillsville. Carl is further survived by 15 nieces and nephews and 22 great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Leo "Lefty" Kessler, and one sister, Mildred Schwellenbach.

A Memorial Service for Carl will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 17, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Neillsville. The celebrant will be the Very Reverend Woodrow H. Pace. Music will be provided by Ronald Resong, organist and St. Mary's Choir. Interment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 17th, at the Catholic Church.

The Gesche Funeral Home is assisting Carl's family with funeral arrangements.
