Carl, Lillian (7 MAR 1896 - 18 Jul 1984)

Neillsville, Clark County, Wis. - Mrs. Gustave R. (Lillian) Carl, 88, of Memorial Home, Neillsville, died at 9:20 a.m. Wednesday at Memorial Hospital there. She resided at the home the past 11 months.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion American Lutheran Church, town of Pine Valley, Clark County, with the Rev. Paul F. Forde of Calvary Lutheran Church, Neillsville, officiating. Burial will be in the Neillsville Cemetery.

Mrs. Janice Mayer will be vocalist; Mrs. Virginia Karnitz, organist. Grandsons as pallbearers will be Eugene, roger and Wendell Carl, Lee Volp, and Michael and John Perushek.

Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Friday at Gesche Funeral Home and Saturday at church for an hour before services.

Mrs. Carl, the former Lillian Dux, was born March 7, 1896 to Mr. and Mrs. August (Minnie Seelow) Dux and attended Hillside School. The family moved to Oregon, returning two years later to the Town of Pine Valley.

She and Gustave R. Carl were married Nov. 5, 1919 in Neillsville, where they lived for several years, then moved back to the Town of Pine Valley. They farmed there until Feb. 1949, when they returned to the city.

She was a member of Zion American Lutheran Church, town of Pine Valley, its Ladies Aid Society and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. LaVern (Florence) Volp of Omro, Mrs. Robert (Eileen) Berg of Fairfield, Calif., and Mrs. Tony (Jeanette) Perushek and Mrs. Robert (Evelyn) Mitte, both of Neillsville; a son Herman Carl, Neillsville; a brother, Arthur Dux, Neillsville; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband May 5, 1973 and a sister, Helen.
