Stevens, Alta (20 JUN 1928)

A very pretty wedding took place Wednesday, June 20, 1928 at 2:00 o’clock in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Loyal, when Miss Alta Stevens, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Schradter of Loyal, was united in marriage to Mr. Oscar Lindekugel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Julius Lindekugel of Loyal. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Leschenaky the resident pastor, pronouncing the sacred words which united the happy couple.

The bride was charmingly gowned in a white beaded canton crepe dress, and wore a train veil, a crown fixed with beads, pearls and rhinestones, and carried a shower bouquet of pink roses and sweet peas. She was attended by her sister Miss May Stevens of Loyal, who wore a dress of orchid canton crepe, and acted as bridesmaid. And by the groom’s niece, Miss Verna Luther of Loyal, who wore a nile green taffeta and acted as maid of honor. Each of these attendants wore rhinestone head bands and carried corsage bouquets of roses and sweet peas.

Little Bernadine and Bernice Stargardt of Marshfield served as flower girls and carried a beautiful basket of pink roses, sweet peas and snapdragons.

The groom wore a dark blue suit and was attended by Mr. Alex Mrotek of Loyal and Mr., Harold Strehlow of Poysippi and were also dressed in dark blue suits.

The bridal couple and their attendants autoed to Marshfield directly after the wedding ceremony and had their wedding pictures taken. Then returning to the brides home a six o’clock wedding dinner and reception was held and about 100 guests were served.

The rooms were profusely decorated in violet, green and white. Wedding bells were hung in the center. Miss Lilias Schoch, Miss Verna Kosmosky and Miss Lucille Litka were table waitresses. They were dressed in white uniforms and wore white head bands.

Among the out of town guests were Mrs. Elsie Gunselly and family of Oconomowoc, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Shaw and family of Abbotsford, Mrs. Max Kadolph and daughter Bernice of Hartford, Mr. and Mrs. William Fracte and family of Arpin, Mr. William Lindekugel and grandson Elmer of Poysippi and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Keuthe and family of Marshfield.

After the wedding dinner the guests went to Beaver Town Hall where a free wedding dance was given. After the dance they all returned to the bride’s home and did not depart until the wee hour in the morning. Both the bride and groom are well known young people with hosts of friends among whom they are popular. The newlyweds immediately went to house keeping on the grooms farm. They were given a particularly fine assortment of wedding gifts and the best wishes of their many friends go with them as they embark on life’s matrimonial sea.
