Marcella M. Schellinger

Marcella M. Schellinger, age 87, of Loyal, died at St. Joseph's Hospital Hospice Care Unit on Sunday, March 22, 1998 at 7:22 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 1998 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Loyal. Father Roman Kaiser will officiate and burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 1998, at Rinka Funeral Home in Loyal, from 5 - 9 p.m. and at church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. There will be an 8:00 p.m. prayer service at the funeral home on Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Ryan Blair, Gregg Stangl, Kenan Sheehan, Jeffrey Castner, Joel Schellinger, and Michael Schellinger.

Marcella Marie Schwieger was born on April 12, 1910, in Loyal, to Ferdinand and Anna (nee Wendel) Schwieger. She was raised on the family farm and was educated at St. Anthony's parochial school. She was united in marriage to George Schellingeron Jan. 7, 1930, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Together they farmed and raised six children. Her husband died on March 30, 1977. She continued to live in Loyal until moving into Marshfield in 1996. She resided there until the time of her death. Marcella was a loving mother and enjoyed reading, crocheting, knitting, and quilting. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and it's P.C.C.W.

She is survived by four daughters; Gewn (Bob) Sheehan of Milwaukee, June (Cal) castner of Saxeville, Joan (Don) Stangl of Marshfield, and Susan (Duane) Holmes of St. Louis, Missouri; two sons, Richard (Mary Ann) Schellinger of Allenton, and Gary (Mary) Schellinger of Spencer; 23 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren, and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Schwieger, of Loyal.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, a brother, John Schwieger, and four sisters; Belle Wehling, Bertha Rueth, Hilda Loy, and Agnes Richmond.
