Sturner, Gladys #2 (*1905 - 21 Feb 1926)

Gladys Sturner, the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John V. Sturner, died Sunday, Feb. 21st, 1926, at their Curtiss, Clark County, Wis. home.

Last summer she began to ail so her parents took her to the hospital at Marshfield, but she grew worse and after a time she was taken back home. Gradually she lost the use of her lower limbs and finally paralysis crept over her and rendered her entirely helpless.

Gladys was born in Dorchester 21 years ago and a couple of years later Waunetta came. Two happier little girls than they were hard to find, as they grew older they gathered about them a host of friends who loved them dearly. After they had grown to be quite large girls the Sturners left here and later settled at Curtiss.

When their grandparents moved into the village with their twin aunts who were nearly their age, naturally their visits here were numerous and they were the same jolly young ladies as they were little girls.

A little more than two years ago Waunetta died of pneumonia and now Gladys has joined her, who know but they are again two happy girls together.

The funeral was held yesterday, Rev. Rosenau, Colby, officiating and she as laid at rest in the cemetery north of Curtiss near her sister Waunetta.

Mr. and Mrs. Sturner have the sincere sympathy of all Dorchester friends in this dark hour and May the thought that He who guides the footsteps of His children never makes a mistake, be a comfort to all that are mourning the loss of this dear one.

*Birth year taken from Pine Hill Cemetery, Mayville Township, Clark County, Wis.
