Adams, Emma (22 SEP 1880 - 11 Jan 1929)

Mrs. Leroy Adams, nee Emma Salzwedel, was born at Hartford on the 22nd day of Sept. 1880. In early infancy she was baptized in the name of the Triune God, and later instructed and confirmed in the Evangelical Church at Loyal. On the 12th day of April 1899 she entered into the holy state of wedlock with Leroy Adams, which union was blessed with five children, namely three sons and two daughters, however of which two sons preceded the mother to eternity.

About six years ago the health of the deceased began to fail, which later developed into cancer. For about two years she was confined to the house being unable to perform her household duties. She however, patiently carried her cross, mindful of the fact that her life soon would be expended.

On Thursday she received Holy Communion thereby strengthening herself for the departure. At 10:30 P. M. the Lord of Mercy delivered her, by quietly calling her from this world of suffering to the better world, thus making her age 48 years, 3 months and 18 days.

The deceased now leaves to mourn her sorrowing husband and three children namely: Percy Adams of Tomahawk, Mrs. Beatrice Cohlbeck of Marshfield and Adeline who is at home, also three grandsons and three sisters and one brother, Mrs. Mary Vandehey of Appleton, Mrs. Dehlia Summins of Tomahawk, Mrs. Clara Rossow of Loyal and Henry Salzwedel of the town of Beaver, besides other relatives and a host of friends who have our heartfelt sympathy in their bereavement.

Funeral services were held Tuesday Jan. 15, 1929 at 12:30 P. M. at the house and 2:00 at the Ev. Lutheran Trinity Church here. Rev. H. F. Leschensky officiated. Interment took place in the Loyal Cemetery.
