Oestreich, Christian (25 Feb 1857 - 15 Jan 1929)

Christian Theodore Oestreich died at 6:00 A. M. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 1929 at the age of 61 years, 10 months and 20 days, after only a week’s illness with pneumonia. The news of his death came as a shock to the entire community. On Saturday he called for his pastor, Rev. H. F. Leschensky, who administered communion.

The deceased was born on Feb. 25, 1857 in Germany. At the age of 15 years he immigrated to this country locating at Black Creek, Outagamie county, Wisconsin. After two years he came to this locality. On the 24th day of Nov. 1899 he was married to Miss Mathilda Hansen, whose union was bless with nine sons and one daughter. They are Albert, Bernard, Milton, Everett, Josephine, Ralph, Christian, Glenn, Kenneth and Oscar.

Mr. Oestreich resided on the farm at the time of his death on which he had lived for 11 years. Besides his loving wife, and the above named children, he leaves to mourn his loss his aged mother, Mrs. William Oestreich who resided with him, and 3 brothers, Henry and Fred of Marshfield and John of Birnamwood, also other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday. Jan. 19, 1929, at 12:30 noon at the house and 2:00 P. M. from the Lutheran Church here, Rev. H. F. Leschensky officiating. Interment will take place in the Union Cemetery of Loyal. The community has lost a highly respected citizen and the family a kind and loving husband and father.
