DOUBLE WEDDING

A beautiful double wedding ceremony took place at twilight Thanksgiving Day, when Misses Alice and Hilda Beversdorf, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Beversdorf, of Shawano, became the besides of Waldo Rinehard of Shawano and Emil Schmidt of Neillsville, respectively.

The service was held by Rev. A. J. Beversdorf, Milwaukee, brother of the brides in the St. James Lutheran church Shawano, at 5 o'clock in the afternoon. About 1200 people had gathered to witness the ceremony.

Miss Hilda Beversdorf wore a gown of white satin trimmed with lace, long veil of tulle, fastened cap effect about the head, and carried a bouquet of white chrysanthemums. Miss Leona Kunkel of Elkhart, Ind., dressed in a gown of light green skinner crepe, acted as the maid of honor while Miss Bertha Stelter, Neillsville and Miss Mildred Meyer, Shawano, were the bridesmaids, and wore gowns of salmon colored crepe, fashioned in similar style with accessories to match. Their flowers were bouquets of mixed pompoms.

Little Marie Gast, a niece of the bride and Armin Beversdorf, a nephew, carried a basket of mixed flowers, Mr. Edward Schmidt of Chicago, a brother to the groom, acted as the best man.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents, at 6:30 with covers laid for sixty guests. The supper was served in banquet style, and Rev. W. J. Beversdorf presided as toastmaster. Many clever and interesting toasts were given, among the best being those at the close given by two little Neillsville girls, Arlene Roehrborn and Helen Pischer, former pupils of the bride. Miss Beversdorf, a graduate of Lutheran high school, Milwaukee, taught the last three years here in St. John's Lutheran school and has won a host of friends in the vicinity.

Mr. Schmidt operates a farm on County Trunk G, where the young couple will live.

Those who attended the wedding from here are the following: Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Schmidt, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Pischer and family, Prof. And Mrs. F. W. Kluhsmann, Mr. Harry Roehrborn and daughter Arlene and Mr. Oswald Pischer.

The bridal couple left on a honeymoon to Milwaukee, Chicago and other southern cities, and will be home after December first.
