Fogo, Margaret J. (14 Feb 1852 - 2 Apr 1929)

Margaret Janney, daughter of John and Jane Fogo was born in Columbiana County, Ohio, Feb. 14, 1852 and passed away at the home of her son John, of Ithaca, April 2, 1929, being at the age of 77 years, one month and 19 days. She was the youngest of a family of ten children, all of whom preceded her in death. She came to Richland County, Wisconsin with her parents in the fall of 1853, where she grew to womanhood. At that time this beautiful Fancy Creek Valley was one vast wilderness. On April 15, 1869 she was united in marriage to Lot T. Janney and to this union were born four children, three of them and her husband preceded her in death. One son survives with whom she has made her home for the past two years. Prior to that time she made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Mary Stayton of Loyal, Wisconsin. After her daughters death she continued to make her home with her son-in-law. March 20, 1927 she had a stroke of paralysis, since then has been an invalid, but being of a sunny disposition she bore her affliction with patience, never complaining. She was converted in early life and for many years was a member of the Fancy Creek Presbyterian Church. In 1888 she and her husband removed by letter and became members of the United Brethren Church of Gillingham, of which she remained a member until death. She leaves to mourn her passing, one son, 12 grandchildren besides many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, April 4th, by Rev. G. H. Kintz at the Fancy Creek Presbyterian Church and interment was made in the adjoining cemetery.
