W. H. Palms returned home the first of the week from Washington to get the saw mill ready for the season's cut.

J. B. Stair and Chris Kippenhan were at La Crosse Monday where a meeting of Mr. Kippenhan's creditors was held.

Word received from Rev. A. S. Covert Saturday states that he is getting better from his recent illness and expects to fill his regular appointments here next Sunday.

Jos. Palmer, the Hemlock miller, and John Sanford returned Thursday morning from Augusta where they had been before the pension examining board relative to obtaining an increase in pension.
