Wilcox: May 9, 1894

Chauncey Fowler opened school in Joint Dist. No. 1 last week. Farmers in this vicinity have about completed their seeding. Fay Livingston is peddling a famous medicine now days. John Lincoln went to Vernon county last week on business. A few young people met at the home of Albion Snyder Friday evening and enjoyed some fine music. H.W. Visgar will move to Granton soon and open up a livery business. Ed Begley has engaged a crew of Indians to work for him. Rev. Benson, presiding elder of the Eau Claire district, preached in Lyons church Sunday. Frank Snyder went to Shortville this week where he was been engaged as teacher. If you want any repairing done in the boot and shoe line give Levi Fulwiler a call. Joe Palmer of Hemlock, spent Sunday with his son at this place. Tho. Barber, of Alma Center, was seen in our midst Sunday. Sam Bolton, Chauncey Fowler and S.D. Gibson and wife went to Humbird the latter part of last week, called there by the death of Mrs. J.A. Bolton.

School opened in Dist. No. 1 last Sunday. Mrs. Jos. Sutherland of Heathville, visited her daughter here last week. A.P. Fulwiler is sporting a one man's saw these days. He says it's a dandy. A number of our people are attending the Crusade meetings at Granton. Rev. Twing, of Humbird, preached at the F.M. church, Sunday. Mrs. E.M. Rowe, of Granton, spent Saturday with her parents. Mrs. Alice Campbell went to Loyal Monday to remain a few days.
