York: June 13, 1894

Born to Mr. and Mrs. A. Windover Tuesday morning, June 5th, a daughter. Born to Mr. and Mrs. John Vandeberg last Thursday, a daughter. That accounts for the unusually broad smile on John's face. A large number of our people went to Loyal to the reunion last week, and report a very pleasant time. Geo. Rowe and Elmer Redmond took in the sights at Thorp, Sunday. Floy, Ethel, Forest King drove to Fairchild Thursday, on a visit to relatives, returning Saturday. Geo. Lawrence was engaged to help furnish music at the reunion last week. While handling an axe last week Wm. Rowe cut his leg quite badly, so he is compelled to use a crutch. Ten dollars was donated at the ice cream supper Thursday night. J. Klose of Larmartine, visited the family of A. Benedict last week. Mrs. S. Adams visited friends and relatives at Marshfield lately. A suprise party was given to Fred Benedict, Friday evening. Those who were present had a jolly time. S.W. Bolton improved largely the past week. Childrens Day exercises passed off nicely. The church was filled to its utmost capacity and was artistically decorated with flowers and evergreens. Nothing was left undone to make it a success. A.J. Fulwiler transacted business at Chili and Marshfield the first of the week. S.A. Adams made a visit to Spencer on Friday. The Times correspondent went for us again last week. He thinks we shall be foolish enought to expose ourselves. Now "Sunflower", as you call yourself, please mind your own affairs or you might hear from us again. Another heavy frost visited us last Wednesday night and considerable damage ws done to vegetables, etc. Miss Chloe Root was sick last week with an attack of tonsilitis. Levi Fulwiler and wife visited with friends and relatives, at this place. Norman Shafer raised a large frame barn Monday. H.S. Snyder transacted business at Loyal yesterday. Ernest Grabe has put up a swing. Now for a good time Mamie. The annual camp meeting is in session and much interest is being manifested. The Crusade band is in attendance and several more ministers are expected.
