Pankratz, Susan (27 Sept. 1950 - 6 April 2005)

WASHBURN -Susan Pankratz, 54, of 425 Hillside Drive, Washburn, died Wednesday, April 6, 2005, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth, Minn.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Louis Catholic Church in Washburn. The Rev. John Eaton will officiate. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Washburn.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service Sunday at Bratley Funeral Home in Washburn and from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.

She was born Sept. 27, 1950, in North Dakota, the daughter of Charles and Violet (Tieman) Hoeper. She was a 1968 graduate of Neillsville High School in Neillsville and a 1971 graduate of Saint Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing in Marshfield. On March 10, 1973, she married Thomas Pankratz in Marshfield. She worked for Saint Joseph's Hospital and the Marshfield Clinic for several years and for Park Manor in Park Falls for a year. In 1980, she and her husband moved to Washburn. Susan worked for Court Manor Health and Rehabilitation Services for 25 years, serving as Director of Nursing, Nurse Consultant and was currently the administrator.

She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Washburn and had served as president of the St. Louis Home and School Board. Susan was a voting member on the Wisconsin Board of Nursing Homes and the Northern District of Wisconsin Nursing Homes. She was an active participant in the Cancer Memory Walk and her hobbies included flower gardening, sewing, home decorating and spending time with her children.

Surviving are her husband, Thomas Pankratz, Washburn; two sons, Jon Pankratz and Joseph Pankratz, both of Washburn; her father, Charles Hoeper of Greenwood; sister, Tami (David) Miller, Maiden Rock; brothers, Rodney Hoeper of Marshfield, Jeffrey (Joan) Hoeper of Greenwood and Todd (Kathy) Hoeper of Marshfield; sisters-in-law, Darlene Pierre of Marshfield and Charlene (Randall) Schreiber of Spring Hill, Fla.; brother-in-law, Donald Pankratz of Mosinee; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Violet; brother-in-law, Donald Pierre; and father- and mother-in-law, Reuben and Virginia Pankratz.
