Schildhauer, Henry (12 Feb. 1859 - *14 Sept. 1933) * Could be off

New Holstein - Henry Schildhauer, aged 74, who came here Thursday evening with is wife from their home in Boise City, Idaho, to visit relatives for several weeks, died suddenly at 1:45 a.m., today at the home of his brother, William Schildhauer in town New Holstein, following a stroke of apoplexy.

Mr. Schildhauer was born in New Holstein Feb. 12, 1859, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Joachim Schildhauer. As a young man he clerked at Puchners’ store, general merchandise stores here. In 1879 he was untied in marriage to Miss Anna Sievers of New Holstein. The couple made their home at Colby where Mr. Schlidhauer was elected register of deeds for Clark County in 1886.

In 1890 the couple moved to Madison, where Mr. Schildhauer was connected with the state land office and later served as a deputy in the revenue office. In 1900 they moved to Boise City, Idaho, where Mrs. Schildhauer died in 1924. While at Boise City, Mr. Schildhauer was an auditor for the Boise Valley Railroad Company.

Mr. Schildhauer was married in 1929 to Mrs. Jennie Randall of Boise City. He retired the following year.

Besides his wife he is survived by two brothers: William of Town of New Holstein and Edward of Santa Monica, Col., and four sisters, the Misses Clara and Ellen of the town of Holstein; Mrs. Herman Thissen of new Holstein and Mrs. Herman Francke of Lincoln, Nebraska. Mr. Schildhauer was affiliated with several fraternal and musical organizations at Boise City. Among these was the U. S. Cavalry band.

The body will be taken to Boise City Tuesday where funeral services will be held Saturday. Burial will be made there. Mrs. Schildhauer will accompany the body. Fred Schildhauer will go as far as Chicago.

Hello Crystal, Mr Henry Schildhauer would have been my father's first cousin once removed. His father Joachim was my great grandmother's brother. My great grandmother, Anna Schildhauer, came to New Holstein in 1867 with her husband, Heinrich Hass and their first three children. Thank you for your posting, please be in touch. I have done genealogy on these folks for a few years now and visited their home (Owschlag) last year. Donna
