Westphal, Harry Claude (30 Aug. 1914 - ? Oct. 1933)

Harry Claude Westphal was born August 30, 1914, at Greenwood, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Westphal, the family moving here a number of years ago. Harry attended the Neillsville grade school where he was general favorite and a lad of whom all spoken well.

Mrs. Ernest Dixon, whose son Donald, had been a companion, of Harry since boyhood, said in paying tribute to Harry: "He was a gentleman - he was everything that was nice."

Harry was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church, being confirmed three years ago. Like his friends on the hunting trip, his favorite recreations were hunting and fishing and he liked nothing better than being out in the open.

Recently Harry was employed as a clerk in the Harry Roehrborn store and has worked at the Inderrieden Canny Company factory here during the canning season.

Harry is survived by his parents and two brothers and one sister, William, 16; Marvin 15; and Evelyn, 20.

The funeral services will be held at 1:30 from the home at 219 South Clay Street and from the church at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Rev. William Baumann will be in charge of the services.
