Ghent, Adolph (5 May 1847 - *21 Nov. 1933) * Could be off

Adolph Ghent, Sr., 86 years old, Cataract, Wis., died at home of his son Henry P. Ghent of North Hewett Street, Tuesday after a brief illness, having come here a week ago to spend a few days with his son.

Mr. Ghent was born May 5, 1847 in Germany and settled in the Town of Little Falls in Monroe County 57 years ago where he engaged in farming until his retirement 15 years ago. Sixty-one years ago he was married to Miss Augusta Hammon, five children being born to this union, Henry of Neillsville; Wanda, Mrs. George Lenner; Effie, Mrs. Herman Clair of Cataract; Meda, Mrs. Clarence Walters, Minneapolis; and Adolph, Melrose. Mrs. Ghent died about 12 years ago.

Mr. Ghent was a man of quiet industrious habits, respected and liked by all his neighbors and acquaintances. He was successful as a farmer and devoted to his children with whom he spent much of his time since the death of Mrs. Ghent. Until stricken by his illness, Mr. Ghent was alert and active taking keen interest in current affairs of which he possessed a wide knowledge.

Brief illness services will be held Friday or Saturday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ghent after which the body will be removed to Cataract where the final rites will be conducted. Funeral arrangements had not been definitely arranged at the time of going to the press.
