Schaffer, Norma (27 Augl 1917 - 7 May 2005)

Norma Schaffer, 87, formerly of Colby, Wisconsin, died Saturday, May 7, 2005, at Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, May 12, at Community Funeral Home, Colby. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, May 13, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colby. Burial will be in Colby Memorial Cemetery. The Rev. John Malik will officiate. Pallbearers will be Shawn Schaffer, Adam Schaffer, Nicholas Schaffer, Rob Hansen and Bob Hansen. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Sterzinger and Donald Uerling.

Norma Lube was born Aug. 27, 1917, in the town of Colby, to Arthur and Marie (nee Schultz) Lube. She attended Colby Schools. She married Lester Schaffer on Aug. 12, 1939, in Colby. He preceded her in death. They farmed together until they moved to Colby. She worked as a teacher’s aide until retiring in 1990. She enjoyed her flowers, shopping and having coffee with friends and neighbors. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers.

Survivors include her children, Gary Schaffer, Curtiss, and Gayle (Bob) Hansen, Woodruff; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
