SCHULTE RITES TO BE HELD IN COLBY

Clark County Pioneer, 81, Dies at His Home This Morning

COLBY, WIS. - Robert Schulte, 81 year old pioneer resident of Clark County, died at 6:45 o’clock this morning at this home in Colby.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Rev. O. H. Hoffmann officiating at the rites. Interment will be made at Green Grove cemetery.

Mr. Schulte was born in the Town of Herman, Sheboygan County, June 26, 1859, and came to Clark County in April, 1879.

Shortly before his marriage to Miss Paulina Janing at Green Grove on July 1, 1888, Mr. Schulte purchased 80 acres of virgin forest, later adding tract after tract until his had acquired 200 acres of farm land. Twenty eight years ago Mr. And Mrs. Schulte retired to the City of Colby, and in 1938 they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on the home farm, which is now operated by their son, Otto. Surviving are Mrs. Schulte, four children, Otto on the home farm, Ernest and Mrs. Luella Weber of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Edward Schuh, Dixon, Ill., and seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A daughter died in infancy.
