LOYAL - Florence M. Rueth, 75, of Loyal, died Friday, July 1, 2005, at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

Florence Rueth

Florence M. Rueth, 75, of the town of Sherman, died at 6:08 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2005, at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Loyal with the Very Reverend Roman Kaiser officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons: David Bangart, Kevin Rueth, Travis Rueth, Robin Rueth, Jason Lindekugel, Brandon Kesler and Troy Rueth. Honorary pallbearers will be Schannon Gumz, Adam Quelle and Angel Rueth.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the Cuddie Funeral Home in Loyal and from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Florence Margaret Schmidt was born on Aug. 5, 1929, in Clark County, the daughter of John and Christina (Hauser) Schmidt. She graduated from Loyal High School in 1947. On April 6, 1948, Florence and Eddie Rueth were united in marriage at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Loyal. The couple farmed in the town of Sherman and Florence raised 10 children. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She was a great cook and loved to sew, garden, quilt, read and do crossword puzzles. She loved playing cards and spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church.

Florence is survived by her loving husband of 57 years: Eddie Rueth of Loyal; her children: Patti (Donald) Bangart of Greenwood, Bob (Marie) Rueth of Loyal, Tom (Anna) Rueth of Loyal, Ralph Rueth of Loyal, Roger (Lori) Rueth of Loyal, Sue (Michael) Gumz of Athens, Bernadette "Bengie" (Larry) Quelle of Loyal, Roy "Bear" (Helen) Rueth of Unity, Rose Lindekugel of Ripon and Kay (Mark) Krings of New Brighton, Minn.; 21 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers: Verland (Delores) Schmidt of Neillsville, Bob (Winnie) Schmidt of Milton and George (Jane) Schmidt of Janesville; and one sister, Sally (Clarence) Becker of Neillsville. Florence is further survived by her sisters-in-law: Josephine Schmidt of Marshfield, Dorothy Schmidt of Antigo and Betty Schmidt of Loyal; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and good friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers: Joseph, Paul, Hank, Tony and Bernie; one granddaughter, Angel Dawn Rueth on April 20, 1990, and one grandson, Adam Quelle on May 19, 1993.

Cuddie Funeral Home of Loyal is assisting the family with arrangements.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Loyal. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
