Mosely, Frederic (24 Jul 1945 - 18 JUN 2005)

Fredric W. "Fred" Moseley, 59, Osseo, died Saturday, June 18, 2005, at the Fairview-University Medical Center, Minneapolis, Minn., after an exceptionally courageous battle with respiratory failure due to complications from pneumonia. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 22, at the Osseo Evangelical Lutheran Church, Osseo. The Rev. Karen Hofstad officiated. Burial was in East Lawn Cemetery, Alma Center.

Fredric W. Moseley was born on July 24, 1945, in Black River Falls, to Robert and Verna (nee Toxen) Moseley, Melrose. In 1947, the family moved to Garden Valley, rural Hixton, where they continued dairying with their registered Guernsey herd. He graduated from Alma Center Lincoln High School in 1963. He was very active showing their Guernseys and judging dairy cattle in 4-H and FFA throughout high school. He earned an FFA American Farmer degree and attended the UW- Madison dairying short course. He farmed with his parents until he took over in 1972. In 1992, he discontinued dairying and began hauling for Croell Redi-Mix, Black River Falls. He married Linda Giese, a veterinarian with the Osseo Veterinary Clinic, on Oct 26, 1996, and moved to Osseo, where they operated a small farm and raised registered Polled Herefords. He served as past president of the Wisconsin State Guernsey Association and the Alma Center Lions Club. He previously was a hunter safety instructor and a member of the North Branch Rod and Gun Club. He greatly enjoyed visiting with his many friends and family, fishing, and eld (?elk) hunting in Colorado. His favorite topics included John Deere machinery, the Green Bay Packers and hunting. Special times for him included deer hunting with family and friends. He was an upbeat, hard-working, friendly guy and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Linda; his children, Rachel and Kaden; his mother, Verna Moseley, Alma Center; his brother, Robert (Nancy) Moseley, Greenwood; his sister, Sandy (Don) Fraser, Colorado; one aunt, Lila Johnson, Black River Falls; and many other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death was his father, Robert Moseley, Sr.
