Mrs. Emily Huntley passed away Saturday morning at 4:10 A. M. at the home of her daughter Mrs. Alfred Castner at the age of 86 years, 4 months and 24 days, suffering a stroke of apoplexy a week ago. She was born in Vermont, July 12, 1845, and grew to womanhood in St. Lawrence County, New York. She was married to Joseph B. Davis, Feb. 1868. They came to Clark County the same year settling on a farm in York township where they resided until in failing health, moved to the Village of Loyal where Mr. Davis died ten years ago. Since that time Mrs. Davis made her home with her three daughters. She attended the Methodist Episcopal Church.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon December 8th at the Windfall Church near Granton. Burial took place in the family lot in the Windfall Cemetery. The Rev. Norman Grandy, pastor of the M. E. Church, Loyal, officiated at the Castner home with brief rites, then at the Windfall Church and cemetery. Grandsons of the deceased were pall bearers.

Relatives mourning her death are three daughters of Loyal namely: Mrs. Alfred Castner, Mrs. Albert Castner, Mrs. Phillip Kissinger and one son Erlo of Granton. One son preceded his parents in death, Ernest aged 29 years. She also leaves 15 grand children and 13 great grand children, besides many other relatives, friends and neighbors.
