Haavisto, Eino R. (20 Sept. 1900 - 1983)

Owen - Eino R. Haavisto, 82, Owen, died at 4:30 a.m. today at Colonial House of Colby.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Maurina Funeral Home, Owen, the Rev. Margaret E. Shepherd of First United Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Withee.

Visitations will begin at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Haavisto was born Sept. 20, 1900 in Ely, Minn. He and Doris Pipkorn were married July 7, 1941 at Colby. He worked on the railroad, operated a tavern at Atwood and farmed in the Town of Green Grove.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Nancy) Hanson, Owen, and Miss jean Haavisto, Colby; five sons, Rodney Vernon, Dennis and Delbert Haavisto, all of Owen, and Gerald Haavisto, Marshfield; a stepson, Carl Pipkorn, Route 1, Owen; a half brother, Albert of Owen; a sister, Mrs. Alma Roberts, Madison; two half-sisters, Mrs. Helen Simon, Owen and Mrs. George (Laura) Hasek in California; and six grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife, Dec. 29, 1980, a son, two daughters, a brother, two half-brothers and a sister.
