COLBY, WIS. - Services for Mrs. Erma Wiedenhoeft, 67, Colby, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Colby. Mrs. Wiedenhoeft died at 6:25 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, where she had been a patient since April 18.

Officiating will be the Rec. Charles Strong. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery, Unity.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday at the Rux-Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby.

The former Erma Guenther, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Guenther, was born Sept. 4, 1914 in Colby and was married to Gilbert Wiedenhoeft Aug. 20, 1966 at Wisconsin Rapids. He died Aug. 13, 1970.

She attended the Lone Pine Grade School and graduated from Colby High School and the Marathon County Normal School. She also graduated in 1953 from the Wisconsin State University at Stevens Point and later attended the Eau Claire State University, where she graduated as a special education teacher.

For eight years she taught in rural schools in Marathon County and later at the Lowell and Mead Schools in Wisconsin Rapids. She also was principal at the Emerson School, Wisconsin Rapids.

She was a teacher at Grant School in Marshfield until her retirement and then did volunteer tutoring at St. Mary’s School in Colby until her death.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Colby and the United Methodist Women. She also was affiliated with Delta Kappa Gamma (The Gamma Chapter), the Business and Professional Women’s Club of Marshfield and the Royal Neighbors.

Survivors include a son, Gilbert, Madison; a daughter, Mrs. Hugh (Anita) Wesler, Springfield, Mass; a sister, Mrs. Gordon (Elvira) Forbish, Colby; two brothers, Melvin Guether, Stratford, and Harold Guether, Merrill; and five grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a brother.

Erma Wiedenhoeft, 67, Colby, formerly of Wisconsin Rapids, died Monday at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, after being ill for several months. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at United Methodist Church, Colby. The Rev. Charles Strong will officiate. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery, Unity.
