Wilson, William (20 Mar 1852 - 9 JUN 1932)

William Wilson passed away at Colby Thursday, June 9, 1932. Mr. Wilson had been in poor health during the last two years. About three weeks ago his condition became worse and he was taken to the Hugh Darton home to be cared for. Tuesday morning he was removed to Colby where he was taken to be under the care of Dr. Christofferson.

Mr. Wilson was born March 20, 1852 at Ontario, Canada. When a young man he came to Hartford, Wisconsin where he worked on a farm and March 21, 1873 was married to Clara Darton. Immediately after their marriage they went to Colorado intending to make their home. After a stay of six months they returned and settled on a farm in Beaver township Clark County. About 30 years ago they retired from farming and moved to this village where Mr. Wilson worked as a painter until his health began to fail. Mrs. Wilson preceded him in death, having passed away November 23, 1921. Mr. Wilson is survived by one sister Mrs. Margaret Atkinson of Spokane, Washington; Percy Wilson of Spencer, Wis., Mrs. Al. Schofield of Greenwood, besides other relatives here, in New York and Canada.

The funeral services were held at Arthur E. Darton residence at 1:30 P.M. Sunday, June 12, Rev. Grandy officiating and the M. E. choir. He was laid to rest beside his wife in the Greenwood Cemetery. The pallbearers were Will Catlin, Albert Davel, Joe Zenz, Oscar Herdrich, Milton Philpott and Fred Nelson.
