Gary Lee Russells Heading for Honeymoon Out West

The Very Rev. Walter J. Dillenburg united Miss Doris Ann Shefchik, 1301 E. 27th St., and Gary Lee Russell, Marshall, Minn., in a 2:30 p.m. ceremony Aug. 20 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church.

Parents of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Shefchik, 1301 Ed. 27th St., gave their daughter in marriage to the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy O. Russell, Presque Isle. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Gungor provided music for the occasion.

The bride wore an empire floor-length gown of white silk organza and alencon lace chapel train. Her fingertip veil was attached to a band of baby’s breath and stephanotis. She carried a colonial bouquet of white roses, blue pixie carnations, starburst pompons, blue button pompons, stephanotis and baby’s breath.

Her maid of honor was Miss Dawn Shefchik of Marshfield and bridesmaids were Miss Betty Moser of La Crosse and Miss Rhonda Gruen, Marshfield. They wore floor-length dresses of cream and light blue flowered satin and carried colonial bouquets of white roses, blue pixie carnations and starburst pompons with baby’s breath.

Mike Russell of Presque, Isle was best man and groomsmen were Tom Stenz of St. Cloud, Minn., and David Grabski, Stevens Point. David Shefchik and Melvin McFarlane both of Marshfield served as ushers.

A reception, dinner and dance followed at the Labor Temple, 501 S. Washington Ave.

The bride is a 1976 graduate of Marshfield Senior High School and attended the University of Wisconsin Center, Marshfield-Wood County. She will attend Southwest State University in Marshall. Her husband is a graduate of the UW-Stevens Point and is manage of ShopKo Stores, Inc., in Marshall.

Following a trip to the Grand Canyon in Colorado and California they will live in Marshall.
